@@RevMonkeyIt’s a fantastic looking car but Lotus are now offering interest free credit (which Lotus must be subsidising so it’s effectively a discount) on a new car and there’s loads of low mileage cars available at £65,000 or less. Very strange for a car where demand supposedly outstrips supply.

@@adrianbennett3761 Yeah, Lotus oversupplied due to a massive issue with the USA and delays meaning attention shifted to UK/Euro cars. Such a fantastic car and an absolute bargain at the discounted prices. No great shock that Lotus have somehow buggered the market up for themselves.

@@RevMonkey They also had orders cancelled by people who had paid deposits and were promised their price was locked in. Some of those people will never consider buying a Lotus ever again, yet the cost of the interest free scheme suggests Lotus could have kept to their word. I think they got greedy seeing lots of new orders and it’s unraveled a bit. They were struggling to recruit staff but that issue may have been resolved by now. Presumably lots are going to China? Have you tried an i4!

I was dribbling over the 599 in this video. It didn't sell. I believe it went into the mid-70s and did not meet the reserve. I think it needed an 80sk sort of bid. It is now open to offers. Alas, I have no money. Still have not sold any of my cars. If not a 599 then I still like the 458/488 Spider or the F12 or even GTC4 Lusso V12. I would even go backwards a bit and pick up a 360 manual spider if it came up in auction and was a 'bargain'.

Yep.. incredible that people are shying away from these 'bargains'. I understand the fear of running costs. People seem to have no fear or do not understand the impact of depreciation.

Very fair point though it could be a long wait and some will wish to pounce now on that spec. The other consideration is that the USA is buying up LHD quality cars which can positively impact values. Other that. Yes, I would much prefer an SS and a RHD model, preferably in a lovely red or perhaps blue.

Yeah, it does look a lot heavier than the contemporary 308 for sure. Certainly a reason why the 308 sold a LOT better but on the flipside the Merak is a LOT rarer!

Yeah. Surprised people want to hide it. It looks excellent and very, very few cars at this level show an engine off.

I'd definitely have an Evora 430GT over an Emira. 410 GT is a closer call - might opt for the better daily manners of the Emira. If it was for a second car then I would have opted for a 410 or higher Exige but I might have been tempted by a 410 plus Evora. Emira just makes more sense as an only car to be fair - brilliant as it is it could be more raw.

The same actually. Sell, 1, 2 or 3 of my cars and then seek to get one or two others.

The Lancia is and comes in at about £500. The Porsche, weirdly enough, is on the insurance with Admiral along with the Bentley and Emira and IIRC is about £450.

I'd always opt for the manual as it has more potential to increase in value and obviously better engagement when driving. The F430 is a dynamic leap over the 360 but the manual cancels it out as it then becomes less about speed and just enjoyment.

Can't really argue with that. I have a soft spot also for the 997 Targa 4S but generally speaking the 993 is gorgeous.

Ha. I keep it simple. Integrale to Italian Car events. Porsche to Porsche and German car events. Lotus to British, Supercar events and track days. Bentley when the missus is with me. For an ad-hoc blast... Lotus if wet, integrale if dry.

I have probably seen 2 in 10 years. Very rare now. Cool little thing and I believe it is faster than most Elise due to the Turbo - might be wrong.

Well... it feels very slow at normal speeds and only when theTurbo spools up it seems fast. Indeed sometimes it feels very fast if the revs are right. It is decent round corners though.
